Oblivion and Distraction

On the whole,beginners suffer from two kinds of problems: oblivion and distraction                        Lu Yan

The above quote is from a Chinese Mediation text .. We might well say the whole world suffers from oblivion and distraction...


Intrinsic Time  means When it moves it moves. When  it does not move it doesn't . No Oblivion and No Distraction.... Our P&F charts move as reality moves. Our charts are multi dimensional.


The Clock Time of Time Frames.. Means the chart is "Pushed" across our screens. Not only pushed but restrained too... Reality becomes Time Deformed and Time Constrained. This means plenty of opportunity for Distraction and Oblivion. 



So ! What is Distraction  ?

 Distraction is jumping at every tic tic of the clock when absolutely nothing much is happening. It is the difference between Time and Work. Of the difference between watching five years go past when one should be doing something or actually doing the ten  units of Study, the WORK  that should  maybe take five years or maybe we could do it in two ! It means giving equal weight  to days where not much happened or even nothing happened.. These days are Distractions..

What is Oblivion ?

 It not Jumping when we should just because the clock has not gone tic tic tic.. Again the difference between Work and  Time.. It is waiting for the time when "whatever",  the WORK has already been done.
it is being lulled and not being able to see when behavior changes.

Richard Olsen states that real time "EATS THINGS" ..He means that it does WORK.. While Clock Time is really a "Foreign Body". It is just a measure. ( as R D Wyckoff would say it is Duration )

The BOXES on the P&F chart are WORK ( an old word for the Fluctuations )..

Does Work take Time  ? For Sure . But how much time ? Necessarily any certain fixed static units of time ? NO. because----->

While work takes time --Time alone does no Work.

Real Work always involves the transfer of energy. Time is (or should be ) just a measure of duration..No work , nothing for time to measure..

OK THINK of our Point and Figure Charts===> They are charts of work being done..Yes Work that takes Time... But they are not charts of Time..

What is the best way to conceive of trends esp when working with Point and Figure charts ?
To think in terms of RUNS  ... Just like the runs of Heads and Tails we would see with a series of coin tosses.

JUST LIKE ;-)  But different !

The way forward and to understanding lies in the last three sentences

What are the statistics ( the facts ) concerning  RUNS produced with a series  of coin tosses ?
In what way could that information help to inform us ?
How could it link with the very admirable work of Richard Olsen and his Scaling LAWS ?

Remember a P&F chart is a chart of REVERSALS ( DIRECTIONAL CHANGES ) and CONTINUATIONS ( OVERSHOOTS ) a chart of  RUNS..

Motorway
